Specialty coffee in Laureles: V60, Chemex, AeroPress or French press

The seasonal coffee we are brewing, how the filter methods differ, and which one to order for your taste.

Specialty filter coffee brewed in a V60 at Café Namazzi

At Café Namazzi our specialty coffee changes with the season. You can order each lot in four filter methods: V60, Chemex, AeroPress or French press. This guide helps you choose, and tells you what we are brewing right now in Laureles, Medellín.

This season’s coffee: a 172-hour Caturra

Right now we are brewing a Caturra with an experimental process and 172 hours of fermentation. That long fermentation gives it a strong profile of red fruit and strawberry, with a sweet chocolate finish.

If it is your first time trying a coffee like this, order it as a V60: it is the method that shows the fruit best. Prices are in Colombian pesos (COP).

  • Cup: $9,500.
  • Double: $14,000, in any method.
  • 250 g bag to take home: $75,000. The same coffee we brew for you at the bar.

Which method to order

Filter coffee brewed in a V60

V60: clean and bright

Paper filter and a spiral pour. It makes a light, clear and aromatic cup where you can taste the acidity and the fruit. The ideal method for coffees like this season’s.

Chemex: smooth and sweet

It uses a thicker filter that holds back more oils. The result is a very clean, round and sweet cup. A good choice if you like a mellow coffee.

AeroPress: intense, with body

Brewed under pressure in a short time. It gives a more concentrated cup with more body. For espresso drinkers who want to try filter coffee.

French press: body and texture

Full immersion and a metal filter. It lets the coffee oils through, so the cup has more texture and a long finish. Great company for brunch.

If you prefer espresso

At the bar we also make espresso ($5,000), americano ($6,900), cappuccino ($9,000), latte ($9,000), flat white and cold brew. Plant-based milk is an extra $2,000.

Why water matters so much

Namazzi means water. The name is a tribute to our father, who spent his life bringing water to many places across Colombia.

That is why we look after the filtration and mineral content of the water we brew with. In a filter coffee, water is almost everything you drink.
